Sockets are tubular driver head attachments used for tightening and loosening nuts and bolts. They attach to the heads of drivers, drills, and other tools with output drive heads.

Types of Socket

Sockets are available with a range of head types, some of the most popular being the following:

Deep Sockets: Deep Sockets or long reach sockets are longer than standard sockets allowing them to access fasteners in difficult to reach places.

Torx Sockets: Torx Sockets or Star sockets have a 6-point star shaped head designed for use with torx or star head screws.

Hex Bit Sockets: Hex Bit Sockets or Allen Key Sockets are terminated with a hex bit that is used with hex screws or Allen bolts.

Torx Bit Sockets: Torx Bit Sockets are terminated with a 6-point torx bit that is used with torx or star head screws.

Spline Sockets: Spline Sockets also known as triple square or XZN sockets have a bit or head that features twelve splines or points that are used with fasteners with a 12-point recessed head.

Some sockets are designed for a specific use such as Spark Plug Sockets, oil filter sockets and insulated sockets
